  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work to chef and I like my job, I have a opportunity to learn and training in my job, this is interesting, because I use my knowledge and apply in my job. I'm kitchen manager then day to day I organize the kitchen and I give to other chef all instructions necesary from our job.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Sometimes I learnt any new skills, (always there are somethings to kearn) but a lot of times I developed existing skills because I have more that 20 years of experience. And I apply automatically I'm the job, this is a better form to learn and remember all this knowledge .

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy this programme because some things. I can study when I have time, I have a several form to support, the trainer and my manager are very good with they helped me a lot, I can apply my knowledge, I can learn more and apply this new knowledge and I like this course because I like my job

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I organized en a little topics, that every appointment present to trainer. Maths, english and senior chef level 3 and in this 3 subjects there are more topics that I make and spoke with my trainer. After I made a exam from maths, other from english and a final project.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have a enormous support from my employer, time to study, to help about homework (my manager), time to take special classes, the possibility to do this course and trying to organise with my job. All time that I use in my course is payed from my employer and apply in my job

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a lot communication with my actual trainer. He guide me for all topics, and he organized a special english classes and check my development. The training provider has a good website to study and take the informs, and, this website has a all teorics items that we see in the course.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • For me it's very well, objective. When I don't make something correctly, they make a correction, continue to guide and check again so they confirm that I understand and learn. When I don't know some topics they are very objetive in my qualifications and they try to learn again

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are more extracurricular activities in my job, sometimes are job meeting with kitchen and assistance manager of other pubs or restaurants in the same area or one time at year a big meeting with employees of all country, sometimes they orange a football match or other activities. And we make a small parties with a pub staff

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because I work in this company 2 years ago, never problems with my payslips, posibility to training and courses, (in the pub), good ambient to job, good feeling with the manager and the staff, good work conditions, no discrimination from age, or others, same right and possibilities for all staff.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mitchells & Butlers?
  • I would give advices from how and where apply, but every person is different, I could suggest to apply but take an appointment as soon as possible, because so they know and speak face to face and in this form they can understand better. Every person must understand with your manager and explain their experiences and expectations
