  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my role involes meeting and accessing if we can provide a service to your work or home through our technology services. we also have a huge work force at our desposal, working 24/7 , 365 days a day keeping you in contact with your loved ones. I have been trained currently to install and repair a basic phone line to customer premises, this involves running a phone line from the network connection point (telephone socket) to the distribution point either by underground or over head points. o

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have acquired a huge amount of skills and qualification though OpenReach, this includes Energy & utilities skill register, Signing, Lighting and Guarding, NVQ Telecommucations, Maths level 2 English level2 ICT level 2 and other practical skill set such as Pole Climbing and inspecting, cabinet inspection and tool use, DP and NTE tool and inspection, Ladder inspection and use, MDF Training and most import off all I have been made a member of the largest telecommucations industries leaders paving the way for our future enginners through pratical and web based learning.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed working with many people from the industrie such as engineers, couches, teachers, mentors and friend and traines. I have enjoyed the journey from training school to the working field. this involed many practical lessions from budding to working by your self. and my fav part of the learning is going on loan to different patches working on with a different group with the same goal.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I recon my I structure my day to day goal and task quite well, I leave plently of time to organise my self either on short or long projects. I also have a long list of people to contact when I am stuck in a messy situation, giving my self plently of options.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received a huge amount of help and support from my employer OpenReach, they have provide me a life changing opertunity to make a difference to my self and people I come into contact with on a daily basis. I am very greatfull for the opertunuty I have been given.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have been given tremundious support from the the managers and traineers from Openreach, they have given me time to understand and learn the job properly. also been given extra training as I had quite a issue understand certain parts of the jobs ie TRC banding, Crimp Cabinets. but overall very happy with the support provided.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel the qualification will greatly benefit my overall position with the company as I will be learning practically as well as thoerticly. also they have impowered me by learning to use web baised platform to performe some of my duties ie CBT and NVQ. I am very happy with the qulifications that are on offere.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • yes there are many extra activites avalible to all employes and family members. the also have a huge involvement with sorts from football to tennis. they also have book clubs to sawing clubs and if there isint a club you cant find you have the opertunuty to set one up.

  • Yes

  • I feel that openreach is a company that can make a huge difference to any field it applies it self to because it has a huge amount of facilities and equipment to solve any issues it comes accoss. and now I am apart of the family I look forward to inputing my ideas to the cause.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • be very open and ohenist, its very easy to lose your self trying to please others, don't be affaird to ask questions your better off knowing than not knowing. have a big friendly smile it helps attract others like your self. its has so many opertuinties waiting for you.
