Business Analyst Review

I arrive in the office with a goal in mind of what to expect to accomplish that day. This plan may include spending greater than 50% of the time in meetings or workshops where they will be gathering information or seeking agreement on the contents of the project artifacts that they produce. The rest of the time, I will be performing original review, crunching through spreadsheets of data and traceability patterns, analyzing or writing documentation or working out the optimum way to define a particular need, requirement or process. Everyday work duties can vary considerably, depending on the variety of the current business and project. Despite this, there are some activities that the Business Analyst will usually do in the plan of every project. They include: 1.Investigating goals and issues 2.Analyzing information 3.Communicating with a broad range of people 4.Documenting findings 5.Evaluating solutions 6.Implementation

I enjoy my program a lot , I think there more positives than negative. Don't get me wrong there are many small items that I would want to change to suit me more but I am not able to. I believe the end result of my apprenticeship makes everything worth while.

My program is reasonably well organized and structured to a fair degree. Again it is not with out flaws. I take more ownership for myself that others as I wish to do well and don't feel that others short comings are a fair reason for neglecting my own success. Overall it's okay, it's what you make of it.

I receive an fair amount for support from my employer, with the knowledge that if I need more I have vast array of contacts that I can use to help further my position. It is a matter of taking personal reasonability and personal action to achieve the best outcome possible.

My training provider is Glasgow Cali and they provide the bear minimum of support. Don't get me wrong some of it is very good but from the view of I am client and I am paying them, they are hopeless. Thankfully most of my degree can be taught from online courses.

It does and doesn't. My degree is very general and covers a vast array of subjects where my actual role in work is rather different to my degree. There is a small amount of overall lap but not enough to justify. I basically have to learn double, work and uni.

there are the normal amount of activities for large corporation and in uni there is large amount, however as a graduate apprentice it's difficult to get involved as I work four out five days a week. I don't have any issues with amount of extra-curricular activities. I would like my work to offer more generally.

Yes

I think it's a great opportunity, with the same challenges that any other organization faces with a program similar to it. I do think generally that modern apprenticeships are the way forward as they are better than traditionally going to uni. Especially if you have the backing of a large organization.

Make sure you are joining for the right reasons and you feel that you can actually see yourself within the business years down the line. It's also important that they are aware of the amount of work that is required. It is a big commitment compared to other more traditional routes.
