  • Support delivery of service excellence through effective implementation of the banks sales and service processes Support delivery of an outstanding customer experience, resulting in market leading CSS & NPS scores Assist in all Service, Sales and other relevant portfolio administration activities associated with managing a customer base and attracting new customers Support in the identification of mutually beneficial opportunities to add value to our existing client relationships and prospects

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Build banking experience to include a working knowledge of relevant bank systems, processes and products and develop an appreciation of the economic and financial outlook in the Commercial and Corporate coverage market. Ability to work with limited supervision on routine client/transaction execution activity and to work to client deadlines and expectations. Broaden communication skills, including preparation of high quality pitch documents, utilising thought leadership such as Sector to bring knowledge and insight to customer. Build an understanding of credit and lending principles in the Commercial and Corporate coverage market.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the day to day role, I find it really interesting and challenging, I don't like the webinars I think they are far too long and take up too much of my allocated time per week. I don't mind the workbooks i think they are quite interesting but it has been a bit of a farce getting all the learning materials etc.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • its okay, the meetings in Manchester are not great, its about 50/60 people in a room looking at a presentation and are too spread out for you to remember what you learned, we had our first one in October time but then didn't actually start the apprenticeship until January, id like to be able to start earlier as now i am trying to complete work books and revise for the exam, we are given 18 months to complete the programme but the first 6 months we don't actually do any apprentice work really

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • to be brief a lot, I am allowed to manage my own time which is really beneficial, if i have a lot of work books i can take my self away and do them without any distraction also allowed to work from home when i was taking my mocks and completing revision

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have had a lot of help from BPP from my current assessor,has had some time off work which can't be helped and [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] has stepped in and really helped me with my feedback and revision tips/techniques my work books are always marked on time

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • it helps build communication skills and through the programme it does help build your internal network which will always be good. when you write down your examples it shows how much you have learnt and progressed so that helps from a self assessment point of view as you can see the work you are doing and how it is helping people

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • lots, we have networking events monthly and we do a lot of work with charities and fund raising events in and outside of work, this really helps build your internal and external network and builds up your confidence in networking as well and it is always nice with charities to give something back to the community

  • Yes

  • really good company to work for, good brand, good benefits, good salaries, they are keen to help you progress if you show willingness and are eager to learn they will help you with you career which is really good because that then gives you the confidence to push on with your career


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • make the most of your journey, you only get out of it what you put in so if they recognise your ability and that you work hard they will help you go far in your career, don't ever be scared to ask for help and get involved in as many activities as you can internal/external
