  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • Public speaking skills through hosting presentations, pitches and answering questions. Also developed teamwork skills through team work activities, for example, when preparing feedback from previous activities, each team member had to be aware of what they’re were going to say which required teamwork. Also developed business writing skills in terms of the formalities associated with writing emails to colleagues, managers and external stakeholders

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • Enjoyed He experience very much, due to the calm and relaxed environment mixed with focus and a desire to complete the task given. Made many new friends who do not live too far away from me, and also simply enjoyed the experience in how a day to day work life is. Although, sometimes was confused at times with tasks given during the final week

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • Very well organised. Started at nine, and endured everyone got their lunch and was paid at the end of the week. The graduation ceremony was well organised with no complaints to my knowledge. Everything seemed to went to plan with no distruptions or inconvenient change of plans. Everything they mentioned in the brochure did occur

  • A mix determined well focused work force who were quite friendly and sociable at the same time. Many a times staff memebers were helping other staff memebers with ideas and improvements to their current task, or would be open to help and offer advice when asked for. A much interdependent work force.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • Not too much. I wasn’t expecting the workplace to be completely transforming than from a normal 9 to 5 job, but did give me an idea into what industry I do not want to be involved, with issues in witnessed with some sectors were sort of displeasing, but overall, a bigger platform of experiences to base my decision on

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • Yes, approximately £572 over the three weeks, with a tax return due to free tax allowance band. £35-£37 each week, for seven hours a day including the week’s where we had to prepare for our adult qualification which was mainly for our benefit, not much output for the firm

    8/10

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • Lots of opportunities, nearly everyday we left the office to either go to a radio station, interview mangers of other businesses, or even a bee hunt. In terms of networking, we met many mangers from other establishing firms and even long lasting clothing manufacturers managers, where David Beckham shops at.

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I think the fact you can earn an adult qualification at age 17 sums the entire experience. A high quality work experience with many activities and opportunities to explore and learn many new things. In addition to motivational speakers who began to shape our minds of how to succeed in this thing we call life

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Be ready to engage, and step out of your confort zone in a failure free environment. Don’t just come here for the money, but to take the opportunities for you will never have the same opportunity again, better to make the mistakes now than later when the pressure is on.
