  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My typical role on a day to day basis involves learning the ropes of the manufacturing department as well as helping out in the support of the production of products in Pre Wire (a sub department within manufacturing) however there may be times where I am required to help out different departments

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I mostly enjoy the apprenticeship program that I am on. Most things with in the work place I do enjoy as I enjoy learning new things and developing skills that I already have in my possession which is rather enjoy able, however the college section is not as enjoyable in my opinion

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the apprenticeship is relatively well organized. It seemed like there was a plan from the start of the apprenticeship to get us through to the end n a particular way, however with lost things plans change, which is okay, but we are not informed of any changes to the scheme

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • With the issues I have had I have received a fair amount of support, my employer has listened to my issues and tried to help me with with the issues I have had surrounding college and the workplace, however I am yet to approach them about more serious matters which may be are harder to handle

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support I have received from my training provider is massively varied. During the first year one section was taught extremely well and we were massively supported, however another section we weren't listened to when saying we needed to do more units in the first year, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] and they are struggling which is making us struggle

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I do not feel as though the qualification that I am getting helps me perform better in my role at work. While the qualification are good at getting me a base knowledge of engineering the main work which I have done in my role is a lot more project management and not engineering

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are extra-curricular activites for us to get involved with, such as coffee roulette, however I do not feel as though these are massively advertised to us as I only know of coffee roulette and that was only told to us once or twice, I do not know of anymore

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • The tips and advice that I would give to others applying for Siemens would be think about what you wish to do, ask lots of questions when applying for it and don't be afraid to do something out of your norm, as you might find out you enjoy something different
