  • - Portfolio management of 550+ high net worth individuals, carrying out 7-10 financial health checks per week with these clients. - Supporting the clients to meet their financial goals and plans in both the short and long term. - Referring to specialists when necessary such as mortgage advisors and wealth management teams. - Regular contact with clients and dealing with questions and queries.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • - Maths skills from calculating income from payslips or tax returns or business accounts. - Written English skills from regular emails and letter writing. - Communication skills both face to face and over the phone when dealing with clients. - Networking skills from attending various internal and external events, and promoting the brand to introduce new clients.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • - By being on the programme it has given me time to sit back and reflect on the work I do on a daily basis. - A lot of what I am doing on a daily basis I am able to use and support my qualification as evidence a long with feedback received my clients and colleagues.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • - Very well structured - I am aware of my set deadlines, the interactive calls we have to discuss the modules and when exactly my tests need to be completed by. - My BPP mentor is extremely helpful and responsive to my queries if I have any problems so the support has been great.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • - My line manager gives me the adequate time during work to complete my coursework and do revision along with other personal development opportunities. - I also contribute my own time to helping complete this. - I have regular check ins with my manager about my progress and we review the feedback after every module.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • - Regular monthly check ins with my mentor, also very easy to contact via email or phone if I have any queries. Regular feedback from all assignments. - Webinar for every assignment to run through what is expected. - I feel fully supported by my training provider and feel comfortable with achieving my qualification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • - Extremely well, I have been able to put to work the skills I am learning in my day to day role. - It also gives me time to reflect on the work I am doing to ensure I am putting 110% in to everything. - Before every meeting I am now thinking about how I will be able to use the meetings as examples to support.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • - Charity events - London legal walk for the pro bono charity - charity walk again in July. - RBS womens group - regular events - Professional networking internal and external (linked in) - I regular keep track of these events and attend to promote Drummonds - I am also part of the local business forum where every month a different company host the networking event.

  • - Great opportunities for development such as training and for career progression. - Fair pay and great benefit offering such as insurances (health, dental) - Opportunities within the bank for networking through various networks - women, young bankers, cultural. - Good recognition and support - Well known company so have a good brand to support you and your work


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • - Be yourself and promote your individuality and how that can add value to the job and the role you are applying for. - Excellent career progression - have an idea of where you see yourself in 5 years time within the company and how you plan on getting there. - Use the networks you have built to your advantage.
