  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I took part in a PWC Business Insight Week to find out more about tax and deals transactions higher apprenticeships. We spent the first day in an introduction and training session where we learnt how to act in the office, how to be professional and how to make a good first impression. We also found out more about PWC as a firm and networked with others inside the business. On the second, third and fourth day I had the invaluable experience of shadowing some higher apprentices. This allowed me to ask questions about the job and also perform some of the tasks that they would carry out within the job. I really enjoyed deals transactions as I feel that it was more suited to what I am interested in. On the last day we had an assessment day where we had to carry out exams and tasks to test our ability in different areas. This was difficult as it required a lot of concentration but I enjoyed the challenge. To finish off the week PWC held a celebration for us where we were able to relax and chat to some of the people we met during the week.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I loved the work that I was given to do as I found it interesting and also challenging. I especially enjoyed it because i was working with real life situations which motivated me to take the job seriously. I was surrounded by a great team who were always happy to offer their help and guidance, they were all hard working and enjoyed their job which encouraged me as I saw the satisfaction they received from completing a task correctly. PWC encourage a hard working yet caring work place which I think is very easy to fit in to. The week exceeded my expectations as I didn't realise how beneficial it would be for me deciding what I would like to do in the future. I was able to get an honest and true opinion of PWC as a firm and what it would be like to work for such a professional business. I was very impressed with the ethos of the work place and how helpful the staff were to me.
