  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a CMDA Student I have had the privilege of being able to rotate through roles within my field. My daily tasks have included: managing customer credit limits for customer accounts, UK&I reporting, use of SAP, administering price change requests, tracking and paying promotional invoices.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • There have been many skills learned during my time here at Unilever. Teamwork, conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, adaptability, use of excel, use of SAP and time management just to name a few.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I find the program enjoyable from both a professional and personal perspective. The course enables me to work in an environment with real people and real experience which I find to be invaluable in this professional climate. Aside from that, the people I have met make it ten times better.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the course is amazing as you are aware of what the 3.5 years will consist of right as you walk in the door. Not only that but the university study is conveniently split into weeks so that you can pace your learning.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The support you receiver really will depend on your line managers. From my experience line managers have been my main link to the employer and given I made efforts to build a strong rapport with them I find they are more than supportive.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider, The Open University are very helpful if problems ever arise as they work closely with the apprentice team within the office. Their support is always tactful and effective in order to help you as an individual.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think that my qualification enables me to push myself because a lot of the time, the work I'm doing will refine my soft and hard skills. Then it is just a case of applying them. I constantly feel like I'm improving.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There's loads to get involved with! I play for a netball team within the office league and it's a great team builder. I am also part of a team dedicated to making my department more fun. both are good ways to channel my energy and creativity.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Unilever offers a wholesome experience which is catered to the individual. You work for a top UK firm, receive great training and are able to get tonnes of experience under your belt.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • Be yourself. Unilever are quite aware of what is on their website, recruitment tips and assessment strategies. I have found that bringing a sense of 'you' to Unilever will give you the margin.
