  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The new skills which I have learnt are, time management; how to be more efficient with my tasks throughout the day with time constraints, team work; the ability to work with new members in a team, better organisation; prioritising important tasks to do first and what tasks can wait as they are not so important and urgent.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • So far I am currently enjoying my time in my program at tech data. So far I have gained so much knowledge about how to build relationships with customers and for them to keep on buying from us. I have also ready enjoyed my time in my selected business unit which was Tech-AS-A-Service. Which is a subscription payment method for customers for their end users to buy products from them.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Overall the structure of the program is pretty good. Sometimes we do go off our structured tasks from day to day, but this is only because it gives us the ability to gain knowledge and understanding in different sales teams and areas around the business. As this allows us to put our learning into practise and to see the outcome with help and support when doing so. This then allows us to know what we are doing well and what we can build on. I don’t think other apprenticeships would allow you to do this early on, but at TechData they have confidence in you that you will do well no matter what and will always help you when needed.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • At the moment I get quite a bit of support from my manager and other worker around the building here at Tech data. If I am stuck I always have the opportunity to go anyone who specilises in an area on a product/service which I am stuck on and they will always help me out. I always receive support from my manager as well to help guide me in the correct direction when ever needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • At the moment we receive quite a bit of support from our training provider which is GKA. We have just come back off our out of bounds course which was a 3 day team building task which we had to do with them. We also have a new coach who comes in and checks on what work we have been doing and what work we still have to do to gain the mark which we would like to achieve.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Having an apprenticeship through a training providers helps us a lot. This is because it enables us to see what tasks we need to to to achieve the grades that we need, how to do it, improvements which we needed to make to do this and what we are doing really well on as well.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It enables people to get a early and a better start in to a corporate working environment. By this it means they have the ability to learn new skills on how to deal with customers, how to work efficiently and effectively, learn and earn and to know how to act in a mature manor towards customers to get sales done correctly.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TD SYNNEX?
  • The tips which I would give to people who are interested in joining tech data are to stay on top of day to day tasks, always be willing to learn new skills as these will help you out later on, build business relationships with people around tech data and with customers, turn up to work on time and generally keep your head down and work hard.
