  • HR administration processes for all employee life-cycle events (joiners, leave of absence, transfers and terminations) Advising staff on Leave of Absence policies including maternity, paternity, sabbatical, parental leave Handling inter-country transfers and assignments in conjunction with the Global Mobility Team Supporting employees with HR related queries and preparing letters and documentation for employees Ensuring accurate and timely notifications are provided to Payroll each month and managing employee data and HR documentation to ensure correct and accurate information storage. Administrative support for Nomura Graduate and Intern Programmes Employment Contract and Compromise Agreement preparation and review Delivering ‘Welcome to Nomura’ Day One Induction Programme Carrying out Exit Interviews and providing relevant feedback to HR Advisors Note taking for grievance, disciplinary and capability meetings Supporting Year-End Compensation process Providing relevant training and knowledge sharing with HR team members and HR administrator teams, both UK and offshore Liaising with RPO partner on Recruitment and Employment Screening activities Reviewing and updating HR processes in line with Employee Handbook, Company Policy and best practice and ensuring HR templates are updated

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • As I had no prior experience of working in HR I have learnt a lot since starting work at Nomura.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My team and the wider HR department are very helpful and always willing to give up their time to talk to me about relevant work modules. I enjoy working at Nomura, and certainly don't feel like I have missed out by not going to university. The experience and scope of responsibility I have been given at Nomura is so valuable.

  • I feel valued by both my manager and team - this is evdident in positive praise and being given more responsibilty.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Nomura's program has an excellent structure - dedicated mentors, work seminars. Every 3 months I have a performance review to make sure I am making progress.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Training provider is fairly new with running this program so is still in the process of ironing out faults, sometimes hard to get hold of certain trainers.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The environment at Nomura is very supportive, especially from the recruitment team and my line manager. Flexible working one day a week in order to fit in studying time.

  • Salary is competitive with numerous other benefits offered.

  • Lots of social events including social nights out, volunteering programs.

  • The program is excellent for people who want an alternative to university, as it still provides the same opportunities in the long term.
