  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Digital Marketing and Content Apprentice therefore I work across both the Marketing and Content teams. On a day-to-day basis my role includes writing creative briefs, doing market research, writing creative content and generally helping my teams in any way I can. I have also helped out on video shoots which was really exciting.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt so much in my Apprenticeship It's actually crazy. Considering I had no idea how to use Outlook or Excel on my first day, I would describe myself as somewhat of an expert now. I have also learnt the basics for HTML and CSS coding which has been so helpful in my role and I'm sure it will be for future jobs as well. I have developed my time management and organisational skills which was definitely something I needed to improve!

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I absolutely love my job, but then again, everything I do is Harry Potter related so I'd be crazy not to... I am learning more than I ever have before and I am always busy, which is something I really like. It is so varied and I feel like I'm doing something new every week.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is pretty well organised; I always get calendar invites for events and I am constantly in the loop about what is going on. At the beginning I found the assignment submission slightly confusing but I think I've got the hang of it now. There is lots of information on what you will be doing in the future in terms of courses and exams so you always know what is coming up.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have a lot of support from my employer. I always have 1:1s with my manager and there is literally always someone to help If I am confused about anything. If you are unsure about something, you just have to be brave enough to ask and someone will help!

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There is lots of support from my training provider, as long as you ask for it. At the start it was hard as I've never done an assignment in my life so I didn't know how to do them and didn't know what was expected of me. I asked my coach for help so now I know what I need to do for my qualification each month.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification has helped a bit in my role but the content is very specific and my role is very broad. I think it would help others more than me if they are only doing Marketing but my experience is that what I've learned hasn't been that related to my job at the moment. I know it will help me in the future though.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes! We have quizzes, yoga, work drinks, and karaoke nights which are great as you get to meet people who you may not work too closely with. There are also lunches for apprentices which is great because you get to meet other people and see what they do in their roles.

  • 9a. Would you recommend WarnerMedia to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great company to work for and there is a lot of support offered if you need it. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and someone will always answer your question if you get stuck. They produce great films and games and if you love what they make, you'll love working here.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WarnerMedia?
  • Show you're passionate about the actual company and the employer will pick up on that. It is really important that you're actually interested in what you are working on otherwise you're less likely to put the effort in to do a good job. I personally absolutely love Harry Potter therefore working in the Harry Potter department is a dream; I put a lot of effort into everything I do as I find it so interesting.
