  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • - Work; - Enjoy the work I do, and am very passionate about our key objectives Team; - Great team, with mixed skill sets and a common goal Company Culture; - Very CSR focused - Positive and passionate culture - "Can-do" attitude, even from RLT downwards How well did it meet your expectations?; - Exceeded my expectations - As stated before, the accountability and involvement provided by Fujitsu, in such a stagnated market, is brave and admirable - Did you enjoy it?; - Certainly. I love my job, and I look forward to taking my next steps in my career

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Fujitsu?
  • - Appreciation from manager; - Very supportive in general Internal recognition; - Labelled a Fujitsu Apprentice Ambassador - Given fantastic opportunities (Town Hall w/Yamamoto-San, shadowing Gavin Bounds amongst others) External recognition; - Several press releases and videos (involved in the Growing a Responsible Business video, for example) Involvement within tasks/projects; - Generally working independently, and trusted by my manager to achieve results Were you valued?; - Usually, yes.

    9/10

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Induction: Average, not great by any means - Manager and colleague supported me, but there is more to it then simply "getting up to speed" (social factor - Only knew 2 out of 95 apprentices in my first 3 months, and this was out of my own pro-activity) - I hope that the work the AFG AC31 has significantly improved this. - Training; - Identified skill sets, and training was provided (the standard of training was good, too) - Several courses which could be seen as vital to my role are no longer being supported by the company - Studying - Given time by my manager to actively study and increase my knowledge within the day job - Takes pro-activity to find what you really SHOULD increase knowledge of (offerings, industry, Fujitsu values e.t.c.) - Support meetings/mentor system; - Mentor system was very ad-hoc when I joined... was lucky that my manager had a suitable network to help me out - Generally review performance quarterly with my manager, which is very good and extremely beneficial - Once a month team strategy meetings also help - Task delegation; - Fulfilled my TOR within 9 months of stepped delegation - liked this approach in general - Team heirarchy; - Was a growing function, and suffered with teething problems at the start of my apprenticeship, however, the function is now a lot more mature and structured - TOR and 'specialist' areas need to be clarified - Was your programme well organised?; - Moderately

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • - Tutor/advisor; - Had to be replaced - Several instances of poor communication, missing deadlines (and meetings) and a lack of strategy (no information of general progression: 'where are we?', 'what do we need to do next?' e.t.c.) - New tutor seems more efficient, and well structured (how I like it) - Accessibility of support; - Previous tutor was a poor communicator, new tutor seems better and responds to all correspondence - Guidance with problems; - Both tutors were good at providing helpful information and challenging, which increased my knowledge - General attitude towards supporting you; - Previous tutor - Helpful, but unreliable - New tutor - Early days, but seems good

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • - Generally very good - All employees are happy to take the time and help

    9/10

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • - Fantastic salary for an apprenticeship, cannot fault it. - Due to the current economy, living/location costs (STE04) are restricted - I would need to earn a significant amount (£24k+) more than I do to afford the costs comfortably (Looking to move out and gain independance, but unable to afford ANYTHING on the market) Please do not take the above as criticism of the salary, just a general criticism of the economy

    7/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • - A lot of IoS stuff, but it seems to be MAN34/BRA01 based (little to do in STE04 surrouding area) - Company wants us to undertake a day's CSR activity, and do provide avenues to do so - In my spare time, I am an FA Football Referee (however, Fujitsu did not provide this opportunity)

    7/10

  • 9. Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Company culture, inclusion, levels of support and an exciting company to work for.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
  • - Be open, honest, coincide and confident - Answer the questions only, don't 'waffle' - This is an innovative marketplace, articulate how you would support this - You will be expected to work over and above your contracted hours, with no overtime pay (a cultural issue, really)
