  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Dealing with customers general day to day banking. Upon asking open questions I can see if there is any better or more suitable product for the customer to get the most from their money. Upon getting the answers I can then deal with their needs and either provide the product myself or transfer through tot he right department.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I feel I have got more confidence by doing this programme, I have very low self esteem but this has brought me out a lot and it has helped with my conversations with customers, but being more confident on the products we provide. I am so pleased with this change in me.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It gives me something to do for myself. After being a mum and wife for over 25 years, to which I love, this gives me the feeling of being more than that and helps prove to myself I am worthy of improving myself. Great confidence builder, helped me a lot.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I fell it is well structured, but I think it has something to do with the trainer you have. I have in the past had a trainer on this programme that gave me the incorrect papers to work from, something a lot higher than the level I was doing. My current trainer is amazing.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive as much support as I need. Even if the call load is high, they still allow time for apprenticeship meeting ect. This is never refused. If I request time off to study for my exams this has been granted too. I think they support this so much as it will benefit the company as I will do my job much better.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • 200%, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is amazing and I know I can email, call or even just drop by to see her and get all the support I need. I did not get that from my previous trainer. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is excellent at giving you support in every way. Can highly recommend [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] as a top trainer.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It gives me the confidence to know what I am doing in my job. It has made me believe in myself more. When I have passed my exams it proves I can do it. Lack of confidence has done this to me. it improves lots of things in my personal life too.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We support charities every year and there are opportunities to raise money for this. Or they allow 1 day a year for each member of staff to do a volunteer day and then you get your hours credited back to you. This is great if you want to do it as a tem or alone.

  • 9a. Would you recommend HSBC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Feel there is a tremendous amount of support both in work and with your personal life. If your line manager can not help they will get the right help in. Could be something like Occ health or the specialist help line for people who maybe struggling mentally with anything at all.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HSBC?
  • Don't just look at it as a job but an extension to your family. There is always someone to help you and make your work life a lot more pleasurable. Some wonderful members of staff there. Full support with everything and a very appealing salary too, with added benefits.
