  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I greatly enjoy my work, the team i work with are very friendly and are all happy to show help and guide me when i need help doing my work. The mangers and senior engineers have set up a good structure to help my learning in plant. The college side of this apprenticeship is very poorly run and organised with little notice given to changes in curriculum.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the college side of this appreticeship is very poorly organised, many changes orccure with little or no explanations and we are consistantly not listened to and treated like children. However the work in plant is fantasitic, with the help of my manager a development plan has been set up to ensure i learn every aspect of my department and am confident with the work i will be doing.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • we receive pleanty of support from our managers and the apprenticeship team, we have regular meetings to check progress and for us to raise any concerns or issues that we may be having with any aspect of the apprenticeship and they are in constant contact with us and always avilable if we may need them.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Very little. There are limited useful resources given to us, changes to assignment timetables are a regular occurance and they do not listen to any concerns raised by the pupils and we are constantly belittled and treated like children. I am only able to talk about the foundation degree and not the full degree which is from a differnt training provider.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I do not believe that the foundation degree is of any help to me in my job role. The NVQ level 2 however has taught me many practical skills that i have used in my job role in JLR and i have found this very useful and benifical to my learning.

  • 9a. Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • JLR is a very inclusive company with many employee benifits. The environment created is very open and you can speak freely to management and will have your opinion considered and be respected. I would recomend JLR to anyone who is thinking of doing an engineering apprenticeship as they provide a high level of in house training.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
  • To show a willingness to learn and incorporate into a team. JLR are keen to find people to can think outside of the norm to find solutions to problems that havent been found yet. they are constanty looking to improve processses to optimise cost and reduce the risk to a persons health and safety.
