  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work on quality issues, using six sigma methodologies to solve these problems. This involves meeting with different people, both internally and externally to solve these issues. Being able to do testing in the materials lab or going line walks everyday is different. Also I lead the entire project, this allows me to gain leadership skills.

  • Yes, I have learnt CAD, CAE, Six Sigma, Coding and have gain valuable experience and engineering knowledge. The CAD skills I learnt were for Catia V5/V6, they were used heavily when I worked in the automation vehicle architecture team. I have earned my green belt in six sigma and progressing on to my black belt. You will also gain several NVQ level 2s and 4's and will also get a bachelors in honours.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification help with background engineering knowledge for the role, but it also helps become more employable once we have finished the apprenticeship. There is a lot of stuff that the qualifications can not teach but that will all be learnt in the programme as it is more hand on, which is easier for me.
