  • My role involves helping the team that I work will to meet and exceed the targets that are set for us. It is also my responsibility to ensure that all relivant legislation is met and to make sure that the team and guests are safe at times in the business.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I feel that I have learned a lot of new skills for example I feel more confident leading a team on shift as I have a better understanding of different leadership styles for example democratic and autocratic and how these different styles are best used to help lead a team

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy more programme a great deal as it gives me the opportunity to put into practice new skills and it also helps me see a clear pathway to my development in the hospitality industry it is also very rewarding when you can pass on some information to your team

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that my programme is very well structured and the structure is explained to you very at the beginning on the apprenticeship I like that each section is broken down in to manageable pieces of information which makes it alot easier to understand and to implement them in the work place

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a good amount of support from my employer but I do feel that there could be more time allocated for independent learning on the job as I feel this would help to make sure that the learning done in your own time is inbeded properly and put to good use

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive alot of support from my training provider he makes it known that if I ever need any help completing the work that has been set or even if I have any questions I can contact him any time and he will try and get back to me as soon as possible with the answer

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my qualification helps me to perform alot better in my role because it is teaching me new skills I also feel that my training provider is very good at putting the information in to real word situation which helps me to implement those skills in the work place

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are not many extra curricular activities to get involved in at my work place there is every now and again team events but these are very rare I feel it would be good if there was more opportunity for team events as I feel this would help to increase the team spirit

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Mitchell's & Butler's to a friend because there is alot of training development options the work can be hard that is true of any job in the hospitality industry but I feel Mitchell's & Butler's set you up well to develop in the company or even out side the company


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mitchells & Butlers?
  • The tips and advice I would give to other applying to Mitchell's & Butler's would be to go in to the opportunity with an open mind you might not intend to make a career in the hospitality industry but you might be surprised it might be a perfect fit for you
