  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day to day roll includes invoice management, inputting invoices onto pinnacle, requesting invoices and statements as required, speaking with supplies to solve problems, request hard copies of documents and to discuss payment schedules. I also ensure statements balance with the purchase ledger, for the appropriate account so we make payments. I also prepare recharges as required.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I have learnt a variety of new skills, during my time with Pendragon, Using finance software for example, and developing my confidence in using the purchase ledger and sales ledger through pinnacle. • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have only just started studying with the programme due to complications enrolling and getting everything in place initially. What I have done so far regarding the AAT part of the qualification has been enjoyable, however I find the apprentice part particularly the SMART section pointless and overly complicated. I think the focus should be on the main qualification.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • So far so good, the AAT portion, at least, is very straight forward and to the point , but I find the apprentice side through MYKAPAPP overly complicated and long winded, it also takes quite a while for these sections to be marked and to receive feedback. I have only really just started the AAT portion, so time will tell.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very supportive and eager for me to progress within the programme, she is happy for me to go to any meetings, relevant to the course, as well as allowing me time to study throughout the week. I occasionally receive onboarding and update phone calls which are allowed to be taken during work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I'm sure there will be plenty of support now the course is finally underway however I did have trouble getting enrolled and up and running initially. email communication with my talent coach is usually quick and relevant, however the apprentice side of the course seems to struggle, I had a very long wait, waiting for work to be marked.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Initial guidelines regarding the course have been a big help and very informative. explaining how much time we are allowed to take each week to study as well as explaining the best way to complete the 20% practical knowledge required to complete the course. the learning material is all relevant to my day to day duties giving me a deeper understanding of my roll the more I study.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are various events at my work place that can help towards my qualification including speakers corners, various workshops to improve skills such using Excel or Word, or using the accounting software pinnacle. We also have regular fun days and charity events that help keep things interesting and prevent things getting stale while at work.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I've found Pendragon to be a Relaxed working environment, with encouragement to succeed and progress within the company. Everyone has been friendly, and the management are very supportive towards personal requirements. I have also been encouraged to apply for different positions within the company, that would greatly help further my career.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pendragon?
  • Don't be afraid to apply, even if you think you are underqualified or have the wrong sort of qualification. Life experience seems to be very desirable to Pendragon, and probably the reason I got my position there. compared to other places I have worked I find the atmosphere to be relaxed and welcoming.
