  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a daily basis I work alongside event planners to assist in the planning of upcoming bookings. I will chase the client on payment and rooming lists to ensure they are received in time. I also frequently am in contact with clients via email and phone so when I client wants to discuss queries prior to the event I can assist.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my skills in teamwork and also in my confidence and independence. Before starting my apprenticeship I was confident but I never would imagine to be meeting an speaking with clients that was my worst fear. But since this apprenticeship I have grown and my ability to interact with customers has made me more confident. I now enjoy taking phone calls and meeting clients so the apprenticeship has definitely improved my people skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have met so many amazing people and friends for life so that has definitely impacted my experience hugely as I work with such a great team. The apprenticeship has given me more independence and responsibility which there is a deficiency in if I was still at school. So, the extent I enjoy this programme is very high as it’s created so many opportunities for me and positioned me in a great place at a young age.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The apprenticeship to begin with was not that structured due to training systems not working for the first few days but my management ensured I had something to do so I watched over the colleagues to see them work which gave me a great insight/preview to my future position in the office.
