  • Working with key IT systems to keep them running and online, including responding to issues, carrying out updates and changes, as well as creating accounts and creating or enhancing software or monitoring tools, to prevent reoccurrence of incidents in future. • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I fully enjoy the program I am on, constantly having the opportunity to not only learn new skills, but also to be able to apply them to a real world scenario within the workplace. The fellow colleagues are highly supportive, and the work I am given is good balance of challenging, but with a degree of freedom as well

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The first year of the program has a very high percentage of the training to be completed, this means that you get the work completed first, while also gaining an introduction toy our workplace, in preparation for your second year, which is spent heavily on the job and an opportunity to become a fully fledged member of the team.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is a good support network around all apprentices, with multiple managers/coordinators that issues can be reported to, as well as a good culture that encourages you to discuss issues head on. The workload is realistic, with a good balance between challenging and rewarding, ensuring the work you do is both useful and valued.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • There is a monthly meeting with the training provider to review current progress, where any concerns and issues can be raised and evaluated. Work is marked and turned around somewhat promptly, and there is a very useful site provided for us to track work, and ensure we can see what tasks we have that are outstanding.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification provides a good level of support in my role, providing new skills towards making the maximum of the time within the workplace, and making sure the work you complete is to the best degree possible. It can also present new perspectives on how to carry out work, views from which you may not have otherwise discovered.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are a limited amount of new joiner activities at my location, which can be attended by anyone in order to build up the network of people whom you know around the business. They can also provide learning sessions on areas of the business you otherwise do not know a lot about. There is also a small social club with occasional events.
