  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role on a day to day basis consist on reporting sickness, holidays and agents details such as their sales and effectiveness. I also prepare and carry out audits to support every area of the department I work in. Within my job role I also look their daily KPIS and produce and make trackers to report on these.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Within my job role I have learnt many new skills and improve on existing skills within Excel. Some of the skills I have learnt include vlookups, pivot tables and how to produce graphs within information from excel. I have also improved on my presentation skills and ensuring the presentations meet the needs and follows the correct format of AO.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my apprenticeship programme as it has not only allowed me to get a qualification but also allowed me to meet new people across every department on the business. I also enjoy my apprenticeship programme as it has given me a lot more confidence and enabled me to feel valued within the business.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My apprenticeship programmed is very structured and organised. Every time I meet my apprentice coordinator we set and highlight the units I need to complete my the next visit. This helps me as it gives me the opportunity to go through the questions with my coordinator to ensure I understand them so I cam complete them by next visit.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • In terms of my employer I receive a lot of support and positive feedback. My employer is very helpful and understanding when it comes to completing my work. so if I need more time to complete my work within work time then this time is given to me which is very helpful and reduces the amount of stress I have.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • From my training provider I receive a lot of support. My training provider not only provides support within work time but allows me to contact her out of hours if I am struggling with my work. My training provider is also very helpful when it comes to explaining the questions and what I need to include in them to pass the unit.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification from my training provide helps me perform better within my job role as it gives me confidence to allow me feel able to complete my work within my role to a high standard and meet the time frames that my employer has set me whilst being organised and effective.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Within my work there are activities on all the time that I can get involved in. As part of my apprentice scheme we completed the gold DOFE award and took part in many nights out to bowling and meals with the other apprentices to get us to meet each other and learn about what each of us do within the company.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • AO is a great company to work for as they really care about the employees. There are many benefits that AO provide. Some of the benefits is we get subsidised lunches, gym membership at a discounted price. Another really great benefit AO provide is an on sight Spa at some of our locations.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AO?
  • Apply for as many roles you feel interested in as there is always something to suit you. Ring and speak to the recruitment team and ask them what you are looking for. They are really helpful and will find a job role that suits your interested area the most along with the correct location.
