Working in agile sprints to do front end development, API integration, back end development, style sheets, talk with clients of Accenture, join daily stand up meetings to discuss progress and delegate tasks to different team members and do other activities outside of the work environment such as volunteering for charities
Yes, I have built on my current knowledge of back end development in Java, C#, C++, and fine tuned my other skills of front end development using HTML and CSS, as well as everything in between such as how to integrate the front and back end through an API. A lot of these skills are transferable.
It is a very rewarding course to take as it enables me to live a normal life outside of work due to the rewarding pay, I don't have to worry about accumulation of student debt and can finance a healthy lifestyle that also allows me to balance my social life with my university studies as well as work
Very well, at the beginning there is a 6-7 week boot camp that gives all the apprentices that enter a decent foundation knowledge with which to build on throughout the course of the apprenticeship and allows us to create a portfolio of work to allow us to excel from early on in the program.
As much or as little as is needed, when I feel I am falling behind I am always able to take a step back and get assistance, be shown how to complete a task and learn from it, however if I am succeeding at a specific area I won't be hindered by having to wait and learn at the pace of everybody else.
A good amount, again like I said for the previous question it is as much or as little as is needed, it allows for an independent working environment unless that isn't for you, in which case all the tutors are more than happy to take time out of their day to help you succeed.
A great deal, as it is designed specifically for the work based environment of Accenture, incorporating both the business side of the industry as well as the development and deliverable products that can be delivered to a client and add value to the company as a whole. Nothing is spared in the education aspect of this apprenticeship
Yes, 3 volunteering days are given to each employee every year to take to volunteer in their local or national communities, this time is paid for and Accenture will support you in your efforts to help for a good cause. It encourages all it's employee's to be good corporate citizens.
Yes
They employ people for the type of person they are and the talents that they have, including any potential they see in a candidate, not for their qualifications, not for what school they went to, but for the person beneath all that. It takes people who they view as bringing the most value to the company, and not an automated process that cuts people out for not having a degree.
Be yourself in your interviews and your applications, because Accenture is investing in YOU, and not your grades or a professional persona of yourself. When you go to the assessment center it is designed to get to know who you really are, your best bet is to be honest and open about your skills and weaknesses.
