  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • We worked alongside various trainees in different departments, this meant a variety of tasks each day. ranging from proof-reading, summarising cases or research tasks.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • There was a team working business exercise which helped develop my team working and presentational skills. Also proof-reading helped me to pay closer attentioin to detail and my analytical skills were developed as I was summarising cases.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed it a lot, as it was very informative. All the trainees and other workers were very helpful and accomodating, always willing to answer questions. The work we had to do while not always the most exciting was a representation of their real work and overall it was good to get a taste of that.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Pinsent Masons?
  • I felt fairly well valued, and that the work I was doing was actually of use to them. I know that working here will look extremely good on anu future applications, so there is high external recognition.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Overall, it was very well organised, there was only a little blip on the first day as we(work experience people) were kept waiting for 20mins. However, everything else had been well organised as the presentations were always on time and we always had somewhere to be and knew what we had to do.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • There was a lot of support, as each trainee would try to spend time and explain their job and your job for the day. They also helped with answering any general question relating to law and getting into law.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There was a lot of support, as each trainee would try to spend time and explain their job and your job for the day. The HR team were really helpful and very accesible through emails if you had any problems.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • It is not paid which is expected, it would be good if travel costs were reimbursed and lunch can be expensive but overall it is okay.

  • 9. Would you recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a great opportunity, you meeat a lot of like minded people your age from various places. It looks great on your CV and any application even if you don't go into Law. And it is fun in a way to experience being a lawyer at a big city firm.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • To start early and read over their application, also to include any and all other work experienc eor volunteering work they have already done in ther application.
