  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is assisting on client Audits. This entails completing sections of our audit file ready for the manager to review

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills including bookkeeping and use of Excel

    9/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the audit work itself and college is great, but sometimes the commutes to clients mean very long hours and it can be stressful and tiring when you have exams on

    7/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel like the organisation is very good on my programme, as we are given our schedules nearly a year in advance so we know where will be and can plan accordingly.

    8/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • This will depend on job to job. The supervisors have been fantastic but sometimes managers fail to understand the need to revise, and so you end up working very long hours when you perhaps shouldn't be

    7/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • BPP are terrible when it comes to admin but to be fair to them, the resources they have are fantastic and so is the quality of their facilities and staff.

    8/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • At the moment it has not helped a great deal but that is down to the role I am in. When I start my ACA my understanding will really kick on.

    6/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of social opportunities however because I work in audit, I am often not able to attend these as I am out of the office

    5/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend RSM to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Overall I have found the firm to be good to work for and on the whole they treat you well and are good to work for.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSM?
  • Be confident and be prepared to do a lot of studying outside of work. It is rarely a 9-5!
