  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy it; i just think sometimes i am not given enough time when the work is sent over by my assessor to complete for the deadline of her next visit. I have had a lot of support from my workplace; i get on with everyone and if i need anything they are there to support me.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • When my assessor is here she is very supportive and i feel i get lots done on her visits. however once she leaves and says she will pass on work she doesn't always pass it on quickly enough and i feel pressured into completing before my next meeting with her.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I think it is really important as you learn new things everyday and by doing the modules you are doing this alongside the role of a carer; so you can see how each module fits into the qualification and how the qualification is improving my skills and understanding. Also i know what i am working toward and can see at the end a qualification i want.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I haven't done anything much with my work colleagues as i have my family to look after. But i have met one of the carers for coffee which was nice. If there were any outings planned then i know i would be asked to join in as they are a really good team and do involve me.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Anchor Trust to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I think the carers are lovely so this would encourage me to tell my friends. The manager is great and would do anything for you and i think as part of Anchor they are like minded people and i am sure going into another home they would have similar experience to me.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Anchor Trust?
  • I would tell them to be open minded as you work with individuals that have different illnesses and conditions, so this can make it challenging at times. but it is also very rewarding. I would tell them to be honest in their application and during their interview to be themselves and this will help them to be successful.
