  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • team leader on a busy showroom department, have 15 colleagues to book holidays for, do rotas, give full training to and review monthly. I am also responsible to lock up the store and open up as well. sometimes I have to cover the front end on the checkouts and get change

  • I have developed my existing skills and grown in confidence. I am looking forward to doing the business project

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed the programme, it is very interesting and I have also enjoyed the functionaal skills. I have enjoyed the parts on team development as I hgad previously struggled and it was great to see the improvement it was very satisfying to see my progress

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I have received a good amount of support, my line manager [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is very god she wants me to do well and helps where she can with time off the rota and also with my work and encouragement. store manager is also very involved and pro apprenticeship I think a few more colleagues now want to take part

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • alotm the trainers are great, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is always on hand when I need any help or support and is very friendly and knowledgeable. she is very good t making people feel like they can achieve things. she is a good motivator and an excellent teacher I have enjoyed my training so far

  • it allows me time to reflect and grow which wqithout the deicated time out I probably would not have done, It also hels me see what I am good at and what I need help with. It has also brought me out of my comfort zone with the presentation

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • b&Q is a great place to work, it offers good progression for coll eagues and has some really really good opp or tun ities for their team members. b & q also take great pride in looking after colleagues wellness and have introduced so me great intranet links for them.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to B&Q?
  • be flexible with hours and make sure you always want to put the customer first, the cust omer is the main pur pose of b and q they put th em at the core of their pur pose. product knoweld ge is a go od th ing to have how ever train ing can be provided
