  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work in a global inwards team within AON, I sevice local clients by issuing their global policies documents and invoicing them for these policies. I predominatly deal with the placement of local insurance polcies and assist in the placement of risk management solutions, I am part of the new business team and the client development team. I really enjoy the experience and coming to work every day.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my team building as i have to work with alll different people within Aon. I have also become more confident in my own ability in what i can acheive and how far i can progress. I also have learnt how to communicate in a professional enviroment with clients and collegaues.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme and i would reccommend getting a job within Aon for any one who is keen to succeed and intrested in the insurance industry or finance industry. I have had the opportuinty to get involved in all different areas of Aon and Insurance industry and they realluy promote progression which is great!

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is organised as you get your Cert CII studies included as part of your apprenticeship which is great thing to get under your belt. It is organised as you get assigned a team but the rest is kind of down to you as to where you would like to progress to and what areas you learn more about.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I recieve lots of support as i can ask for assistance on any area of businesss and they will assist with queries i have. I am also put through my CERT CII studies which is great for progression and learning. I can also claim expenses on any travel we do to gain more experience and more training.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We recieve 1 revision course before each module of the exam that i am sitting as part of my apprenticeship. I am currently completing my CERT CII qulaificatin and Aon Pay for all the travel to the exam, the revison sessions, textbooks and revision website which assists me in my studies.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification definately helps me within my job as i gain further understanding about lines of insurance and areas of risk for clients, this is enables me to service them better by offering solutions which will enable their business to have less risks and operate in a more effective way, which is our role as a broker.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • To be honest, there is not much extra-curricular teams in terms of sports, however we have arranged a charity football match. I often get involved in professional networkiing events as these are often run by Aon and involve an insurer coming to the event so gives m e achnace to neytwork and gain contacts

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend working for AON as i believe that they are a great compnay with all differrent areas for development or divisfication in a career. the company will assist with professional studies and exams meaning you can progess well within your career. The compnay also assists you to work toward career goals.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Aon?
  • You should be confident and eager to learn, if you are hard-working and willling to get involved in all different areeas of business you would be perfect for Aon. You should demonstrate your communication skills as this is crucial to your job role within Aon. I would definately advise people to join Aon as they are a great company for learning and progression.
