  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role within logitsics consists of learning all factors of Logistics within Plant Oxford. Ensuring material arrives on time and to the desired quality to ensure we build the required cars. This involves project work and problem solving to adress issues within logistics. I've also been made project lead for the Loistics Newsletter.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've developed a whole range of skills; teamwork, communication, coding and almost every other skill important for business. I've really developed my poeple managment skills though. I've worked in a stressful enviroment and learning to manager and deal with people individually has been invaluable for me. I've also developed my macro coding in Excel.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My apprenticeship programme is fantastic. I especially enjoy the team I am in and the projects I get to work on. I also enjoy the confidential nature of the work I do; being a car enthusiast I'm in the perfect position considering my passion. I look forward to every project at work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My apprenticship is organised fantastically, so much so, that I am often completing assignments at University that directly reflect the work I'm doing at BMW. I also have regular sessions with my apprentice manager to understand what the next steps in my apprenticeship are. As well as what's expected of me.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a large amount of support from most of the working level managers. They are always happy to answer all my questions and queries that I have, whether these are of a personal matter or a work related matter. They always help with projects and ensure I receive the right amount of support.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive lots of support from my training provider, they always have somebody available to help me, as well as all the relevant information and tools in order to complete assingments and to read around a subject. They also provide personal developement support to ensure i better myself in other ways than academic.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My qualification diretly reflects the challenges and work that I have to complete at work. This means I am better prepared for the challenges i face at work and at University. My training provider also supports me to ensure I am receiving enough time at work to complete my studies.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many social activities and chairtable activities that I get involved with. There aren't many sports teams, but there are collegaues at work that share the same passion as me, meaning i am able to play sports with them and also casually talk about our sporting interest. Ther are also other extra curricular projects

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • BMW has been fantastic, it has given me the oppurtunity to learn whilst i earn, be part of the car scheme and also learn to an industry leading standard. There are so many oppurtunities and avenues within BMW it's possible to do almost anything you're interested in. logistics being my favourite


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BMW Group?
  • Ensure you come across enthusiastic and eager to learn. Read around the department you want to join. Learn about teamwork and how to be part of an effective team. Prepare for the interview and be genuine, this will ensure you across as personable meaning you will easily fit into a team at BMW
