1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

9/10

Arla foods are a really great company and I would definitely recommend to anyone that wants to work in finance, accounting or consulting. The work was really stimulating and I thoroughly enjoyed the culture and environment of the organisation. I left one star out as I didn't like one of the tasks I was set in my first week.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

9/10

I really improved my engineering skills and developed existing business skills. I hope I can use all of the skills I learnt during my time on the internship to improve my employability and get more work in the future. I really felt as though the company give you lots of support and help you get work in the organisation in the future too.

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

9/10

I really enjoyed the programme. The staff were great, I really liked my boss as she was really friendly. The company have a really good access program so there is really a range of people from lots of different backgrounds - i really liked that, the diversity of cultures and opinions is reflected in the company.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

9/10

I felt the programme was really well structured and I thoroughly enjoyed working with my team. There were project deadlines clearly outlined at the start of the programme that I adhered to. I knew exactly what was expected of me and my personal development through out the Arla apprenticeship. You could always ask for more work if you wanted it.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

9/10

My management gave me lots of support on the range of tasks I completed, including constant feedback. I was also give the e-mails of two of my senior team members which meant there was always someone to answer any questions I had about the role, my responsibilities and what was expected of me.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

8/10

My training provider gave me lots of support when working towards my qualifications, although there were times when I felt a little under pressure from both my team and the training provider. On the whole though, there was a good support network that I managed to utilise a couple of times when I was struggling.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

7/10

I felt as though the qualification through my training provider set me in quite good stead to perform better in my role although at times I felt like the work I was learning was a little bit tangential. On the whole, I think the skills from my training provider were applicable to my role and helped me excel.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

9/10

There were lots of extra curricular activities to get involved in at my work, including a team football and netball club. There were also charity social nights once a week that involved bowling, cinema or playing ping pong. If you were proactive and kept an eye out for different activities, there were a lot around.

9a. Would you recommend Arla Foods to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

I would definitely recommend Arla Foods to a friend because the company was really great; the staff were friendly, the programme I was on was well-structured, and I really liked meeting the other apprentices. The work was quite challenging at times but I feel as though it had set me in good stead for the future.

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Arla Foods?

To others applying to Arla Foods, I would recommend researching the company thoroughly before you go and make sure that you know about your division in your interview as they like to ask questions about the business model and its place in the market. I would also make sure you showcase your passion for business and know Arla Food's company values.
