I am a marketing apprentice here at Colt but i am in the Data Centre department. A lot of my role is data entry. I also manage both the Twitter and Instagram account for my company, so in the morning we log the movement in followers and tend to schedule our posts throughout the day
I have learnt many different skills and developed a number of them, mainly my timekeeping skills have advanced vastly. I have also managed to improve my personable skills, my communication skills and i have had a massive improvement in my abilities to use all computer programs necessary to complete my job to a high standard. CRMs and Hubspot especially.
Like any place of work, it has its ups and downs. But i am a huge fan of the place i work, my colleagues are great, intelligent and understanding. And i have a boss that respects me and i have a lot of respect and admiration for her. All in all, i enjoy the programme hugely
My program is fairly well structured. At first we had a BPP representative that was not the most supportive / active in the sense of assisting us when necessary. but we then moved onto a lady named jennifer Hardy and she proved to be one of the most efficient and hard working ladies i have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
My employer does provide a lot of support. Right around the time of our exams, my boss especially, was extremely supportive. She made sure i had more than enough time to revise for and prepare for them. Ensuring i would pass the test. And that's exactly what happened, i passed it with relative ease down to the revision.
The support from the training provider was immense. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], our BPP representative was instrumental in ensuring that we are up to date with all of our course work and that our level of understanding was up to scratch. We also had group calls every 4-6 weeks so we can coincide with everyone else on the course.
I feel that in the business organisation apprenticeship course, it helps us to analyse the work we are doing and decipher the exact purpose of it. Helping us to realised just how our work influences the company, and how we are all cogs in a working system here at Colt
At Colt they have a number of extra curricular activities to get involved in. They have regular fitness clubs where a number of colleagues will go for a run together, they also hold joint yoga classes and they try and collate each of the musicians in the building for a group band session where they get to jam together.
Yes
COLT is a fantastic company thats outreach spreads worldwide. You meet, talk and work with people from all different stretches of life. Not only do you learn a lot about the industry and telecommunications but you get to learn more about culture and personable skills. There is room for promotion so no one is stuck in one place too long, the opportunities here are incredible. I would highly recommend everyone try and work here.
I would give them the advice that they should ask everything. If you're unsure of somehting, do not be afraid to ask. If someone has a problem with you asking the questions and ultimately wanting to learn more, then they should not be in the position to give any advice in the first place. That and to be wary of how you're viewed
