  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed my programme since I started, it has gone very quickly and has been very informative. I have learnt a lot over the year and a half I have been here, both form exams and practical experience in the office. I get along well with my colleagues in my department and my intake.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of my programme is excellent, I have an exam every 2-3 months and work in-between, this allows me to use my knowledge i have learnt at college for my every day work and vice versa. Working and studying can be hard at times due to stress and pressure but they go together hand in hand and help a lot.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive support from RSM as a whole as they provide us with all the college date, exams and the fees that cover this. They offer resits for some exams if needed and they also are there if you need support. We are entitled to a few days study leave to help keep on top of our exams whilst working.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • BPP offer a lot of support, they are open all hours, which mean we can go and study there whenever they want. The lessons are informative and they provide us with good study books. We are set independent task which will help us pass our exams, and are very supportive along the way.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel the qualification helps with my day to day role especially because i didn't go to university or study accounting before i joined, therefore, i had little to no knowledge prior to starting. The things you learn at college help you to understand why you are doing what you are doing and how you do them.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • They do offer extra-curricular activities, such as sports clubs, sports day, Christmas party. They also offer department lunches and social drinks after work, which i often attend, as i feel this is a way to get to know the people you work with. They are great fun and you can choose how ever many you go to.

  • 9a. Would you recommend RSM to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • They offer great support and a lot of opportunities to develop, you gain a lot of knowledge and a friendly place to work. They give you a good salary for a school leave and a lot of internal courses to get to know everyone you work with as well as a basic outline of your role.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to RSM?
  • When you apply remember to be yourself, and if you are joining on the school leaver programme, they don't expect you to know everything already so just relax. They know you will be limited to knowledge and experience due to being younger. Be approachable and determined and they will love you! Make sure you have a good brief understanding of the role you are applying for a swell as the company as a whole.
