  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role comes with a range of responsibilites. For example, I am in charge of ordering and managing merchandise, raising and tracking payments, create invitation emails to events. Within my role, I work closely with sales and focus on leads that are generated. A different aspect of my role is attending site visits, and taking responsibility for a tool that supports Precision Marketing.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt alot from my job. I've learnt how to organise myself better so I can complete tasks efficiently. Additionally, I've learned about various software tools, ranging from ones we use to make payments, create landing pages and emails, and also keeping track of leads created by sales. I have also grown more confident when communicating with my colleagues in different roles and varies levels of the company.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy working in my team. They support me when required and the company has helped our development by having workshops for the apprentices where we learn skills and techniques we can implement in our roles. It is great knowing that everyone is friendly and supportive to us and most of our colleagues understand at the start of the role that we aren't experienced and are eager to explain things in more detail so we understand for future reference.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I think it is very well strcutured. My team brought me into the team and helped me understand and settle into the company for the first couple of months. Now about 6 months into the apprenticeship I have been trusted with more tasks and responsibilities as I have won their trust in my abilities to complete tasks to their deadlines.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • They are very supportive. Sometimes, when I need help with BPP work (our training provider), my manager and team will support by providing examples and helping me answer the questions. Additionally, they are very understanding when you ask to take time out to get the training done. I always get my 20% of work time to do my training.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • At the star, our tutor wasn't very helpful. There was lots of confusion and a few mistakes on both parties due to poor communication. We had the same feedback from the apprentices from other companies in the course. However, after discussing it with our apprenticeship head, we now have a new buddy who is more supportive than our previous buddy,

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps us perform better because it raises my personal awareness on the affects my of my role has on others. Furthermore, it shows the importance of my role and I can now identify potential problems which can be arise if mistakes are made from raising payments for example. The webinar feature means you can watch the webcast in your own time.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because Colt is a great place to work with friendly people. The work is challenging and sometimes stressful but is also very flexible, especially in my Marketing role. I have enjoyed my time here so far. The only problem I have is my personal travel to work and the price of the food at the restauraunt.
