I am a sales adviser which is on the cosmetics part of the store. My role typically involves customer service, stock replenish, tester orders, zero to zeros and delivery. I typically help customers to choose makeup. I also help customers to colour match foundations and help with the skincare section.
I have learnt many skills and developed my self hugely. A main debelopment is my self confidence. My social skills have widely been developed and I have learnt better communications skills. Alongside this; i have better time management, i have learnt how to balance more than one task at a time & i have learnt various other things in store such as how to do a tester order.
My apprenticeship programme made my confidence a lot better and i highly enjoyed it. I loved every minute of it. I have learnt so many new skills throughout being here. I have also made great connections between my team members and made some strong friendships. I have also created great bonds with customers too.
My programme was highly structured. For example; my workbooks where set out in a good way in which i had a good amount of time to complete them. Also; my study time was planned out well, it was balanced with my work load. Also: everyone i worked with was extremely supportive.
My employer has always been extremely supportive. Even for a quick chat, or if i needed some support or guidance they was always there. They helped me a lot with my training and helped me to keep on track with my study time. They would always ensure i was up to date and on track.
My training provider was also a great sense of guidance within my apprenticeship. They would check my work and keep me on track with what I was doing. If i ever got stuck or felt like i didn't understand something in my workbook, they was always there for support.
My workbooks and the training i have received helps me to perform better in my job role. This is because the skills and the knowledge i learned can be used on the shop floor. I would learn new communication skills and my work books taught me new things such as how to deal with different types of customers. It gave me a better insight to broaden my knowledge, which i necessarily wouldn't have learnt in a normal job role.
We sometimes get together as a team for special occasions. At Christmas we go out for a meal; and sometimes for people birthdays we get together to do something aswell. Before I have met up with team members outside of work to go to the cinema and have a meal.
Yes
A S Watson is a great company to work for. Everyone in the company is very supportive and friendly. It is a very good company to work for due to the support you receive and the equality within the company is great. I feel like A S Watson is brilliant to work for as they are so fair as a company.
The main advice I would give to someone else who is applying to A S Watson is to just be yourself. Everyone is different and the company is so diverse and equal that there is no need to be someone you're not. Being yourself and being comfortable is ideal.
