  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am involved in many different projects across various business areas, so there is never a typical day. With that said, my main job role is in an applications team, on a secure account. This is a small team dedicated to developing applications and supporting the implementation onto the systems, for our customer.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have learnt many important interpersonal and intrapersonal skills so far in my Apprenticeship journey. I believe that Fujitsu has enabled me to take my underlying qualities and develop them into skills and actionable assets. I have developed vastly in both the personal and professional aspects of my life.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy the programme. I have learnt a lot and owe Fujitsu a lot for the opportunitity they have given me. I work in a very close team, with colleagues and friends I believe I have made for life. Work can be very stressful but I don't regret a thing, even at the hard parts.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel as though this could generally be improved. Where as the organisation of the scheme is good and has a good team behind it, I feel that a lot more could be done to enhance the structure. There aren't many social or training events in the Apprenticeship calendar, as opposed to the Graduates that have many. I think having a better established structure that matches the treatment the Graduates get and Fujitsu's values, it would be much better.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I find myself in a very fortunate situation in regards to support. My managers are fantastic and go above and beyond to support me and my needs. Support from the Apprentice Academy Board for me personally has been also very good. Getting support fro HR at Fujitsu often seems much harder than it should be, but luckily that is not an interaction I have to have too frequently.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • This is very varied. With my previous distance learning provider, the overall support was very poor. With my new one, it is improved. I am lucky to have very supportive Student Managers and Programme Leaders. Attending the University in-person gives me the support I need from my peers and tutors- you must go searching for it to get it.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that it has given me a lot of knowledge to apply in the workplace. Some of the learning is quite far fetched and not relevant, but overall I would say it has been good. A vast variety of topics are covered, which will benefit many people, not just myself

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I get involved in as many of these professional events as I can. It would be fantastic if Fujitsu had some sports teams and competed locally. This would build relationships and add some fun to my lifestyle. I believe that Fujitsu could have more professional and social events for their Apprentices, rather than just one a year.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because this opportunity has changed my life. Overall, I have enjoyed my time at Fujitsu and would advise others to rise to the challenge. By no means are they perfect, but I believe they stand out from their competitors. If you have the drive, the sky is the limit at Fujitsu.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
  • Be bold, patient and make the most of every opportunity. Be open minded to the routes you aspire to take in your career and explore all of your options. Be confident and stand out on your application process, this will ensure you are recognized and remembered by managers and our recruitment team. Best of luck!
