  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Providing excellent customer service to each customer. Tidying and restocking the store. Working along side managers and team members. I have learned hope to open and close the store, including unloading deliveries onto trolleys and how to set up the tills and cash them up. This is prior training for team leading.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • More confidence with public speaking, cash handling, using the systems and programs within the company, product knowledge. I have more confidence in the different ways I can approach customers and how to use interpersonal skills with people of different races, religions, ages and disabilites and make sure I deliver equal service to all.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed my program a lot, I have learnt so much and gained a lot of experience that I can use to further my career. I had some trouble at the beginning with having a consistent assessor and getting my weekly hour, but other than that it has been a good experience.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is structured in a good way in what we learn. It could be more organised in regards to my assessor visits. I had trouble with getting my weekly hour but that was eventually sorted out with my manager and it was rotated in each week. I also had trouble with an assessor as well.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my managers, my team and my assessor. I see my assessor every 4-6 weeks and they are able to help me out with my work books and showcase. My managers have shared all their knowledge on things I needed help with in my workbooks.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I recieved a lot of help from my assessor. And some help from my managers. My assessor was really helpful throughout the whole process and offered me all the support she could. She was really helpful with my workbooks and my showcase and made sure that I had included everything and was 100 percent ready for My EPA.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe that everything I learn helps my customer experience because I have learned about every type of customer and all policies and procedures that affect my role. All of the workbooks have certain significance to all areas of my job role, mainly focusing on customer service and retail. I have learned a lot of useful tips from my assessor.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We often use our prize fund to have work nights out such as meals and escape rooms. These allow the whole team to have extra bonding time and it’s always so much fun to see each other outside of work, because then we don’t have to associate our relationships on work.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Superdrug to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Because the work atmosphere is excellent and friendly. And the staff I work with have become some of my closest friends. I have learned a lot of life experience and experience with retail and customer service that I will be able to take with me into other jobs or to further my career with Superdrug.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Superdrug?
  • To be confident in yourself. Because serving customers and helping them meet their needs becomes a passion and a life skill. For this you need confidence and the ability to speak freely and give your best advice. One of the first things you do within your interview will be demonstrating your communication and service as this is what Superdrug is all about.
