  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is to ensure all customers are clean, heathy and safe in their home. daily tasks once a customer is woken and wants to be get up you assist if needed with personal care then they would go in to the dining room to have a breakfast of their choice after this if up to the customer we hold activities in the lounge everyone welcome to join in.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I've been a number of training courses such as fire training, safeguarding, how to use a personal plan training, I pad training also health and safety so I've learnt loads of new things, I have also developed on existing skills that I knew before hand. In my role I feel I have developed skills

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really love the job I do, I feel I have a great bond with all customers in the home. all staff work well as a team we all like a big family, we always have a good atmosphere in our home.   • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well organised, I have a study day every week on a Monday I go on every training needed when its on. I get support of all staff when needed I have a review every month with my manger or senior manger to tell me how I'm getting on.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel I am very supported in my role I have a buddy called [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] who helps me a lot she always supports me in anything needed she shows me how to do on things I'm not sure and she tells me lots of information that I need to know then asks me questions about the information.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider supports me a lot towards my qualifications or anything relevant that I would need help with but normally if I do need anything I got to my mentor [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]. I do enjoy what I do yes, its a very rewarding job I love to see all the customers happy its make me happy to.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • All the training I have taken part in and all information my training provider gives me really helps me in my role and also helps me perform better because its helps me have a better understanding on everything. Everything I learn on my apprentiship helps me more with my day to day basis in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We provide activities for the customers in the home, also every Wednesday we got to the Irish centre to have a dance and a game of bingo we play raffle's we also go on days out such as harry Ramsdens for dinner, theatre , war museums and tea and cake afternoons much more also.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would highly recommend anchor trust to a friend because anchor trust has really helped me and supported me in my role when ever it was needed. I feel anchor is a very trustworthy company and wont let you down with something you feel you need help with i don't have any bad things to say about anchor trust I'm very grateful for it .


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Anchor Trust?
  • The tips and advice I would give is to be your self at all times and no not feel uncomfortable because so far everyone is really welcoming and down to earth with me. Their are multiple opportunities and experiences involved within anchor that will help you in many different ways.
