Work varies day to day, it depends on the client and the time phase of the audit. Usually working onsite with a team of people. Have regular interactions with the clients in order to complete the work. Work is varied so keeps things interesting and on clients for roughly 3 weeks so a lot of variety.

I have been on numerous training courses since beginning, these help us to learn the skills needed and how to apply them in work. Have also spent numerous weeks in college training for my ICAEW qualification. Learnt how better to manage my time and responsibilities. Team building skills have improved along with communication skills as continually having to communicate effectively with senior/junior members of the teams and clients.

I enjoy the work I do as it is varied and rarely the same thing day-to-day. It is nice being able to work with different people and build more relationships. There is a lot of opportunities to socialise with colleagues including at the monthly social, where we do various activities like escape rooms, bingo, pub quizzes!

Training is received every year just before you move up to the next level. We are given time off for studying and receive support from colleagues at work. We have numerous levels of support in the form of buddies, counsellors, apprenticeship coaches, "homes". First years also have peer mentors in the form of a 2nd year offering advice and support in their first few months

I receive lots of support and coaching from both my counsellor and manager. If I have any queries or need help with anything, they will both help out. We also have apprenticeship coaches who offer support for the apprentices and any queries we have in relation to our training and qualification.

Support from the training provider isn't the best. I enjoy college and learning but the certain tutors don't have the best teaching style so have to do a lot of extra studying myself to ensure I understand the work. There is support offered via online chat, call and email.

I do believe my qualification has helped massively with my job on a day-to-day basis. The modules are relevant to the work I do. The more modules I complete the more I am improving my work through knowledge learnt. I have learnt a lot more about my industry and job role through my qualification.

There are plenty of extra-curricular activities available including socials every month - pub quizzes/bingo/escape rooms. There is opportunities to volunteer. There is lots of opportunities to help out at student recruitment events. There is sports teams to get involved in - including competing in leagues with other accounting professional firms.

It is an amazing opportunity to gain a qualification and learn skills which can be applied to the job. You build relationships and connections and gain a great understanding of how to perform your work and how to apply the modules you learn in college to the work. It is fun to work with different people and at different client sites, thus getting an insight to various businesses.

Be yourself and be confident, people aren't recruited solely on school grades. In your interview they are trying to work out if you would fit in to the business well. Assessment day - don't be overpowering, it puts people off. Respect other people and give them opportunity to speak.
