  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I help support healthy and safe living of elderly individuals with dementia in a care home. Help provide care and assistance for a range of individuals. Make sure i keep a well lead profesional mannor whilce in the work place. Plan out activitys from day to day atound subjects the residents enjoy

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have been supported with my maths skils by both anchor and babcock training. I have learnt a new level of patience. How to make sure i am bringing the best out of individuals. Supported with my confidance and manor. New skills such as patience,time management, confidance and motivation

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the physical side to it. Like the hands on work. The paper work side has been a bit of a drag but it has all payed off. it has helped me with my acodemic side of the training. I have met new / fellow staff who have become close friends

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Well structured. Could of been a little better. A slight mix up with regional trainers on behalf of babcock and assessors within the few 3 to 5 months of my apprentaship. Seems ok now well organised, always something to do. Anchor has been great to me it had always been motivating and well orgonised

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Alot. They are always there when you need a good chat. About any issues in the work place or out. Very helpful always available to get hold of by mobile or email. Stick to there promises and offers. Find time to do there own job and help you out. Always able to find a answer for any questions

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Quite abit. Could be a little better. It seems pretty rushed now as there was a mix up withing the first 3 to 5 months of my apprentiship. Could plan a meeting a little better. Dead lines are set but sometimes are Not very flexibal around work hours but i manage to find time

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Helps in many ways, allows me to handel tasks and have opitunitys of traning i may not have had before. Helps with my maths as i am set alot of practise maths papers. Manage to go through nessesary topics. Just feels a little overwhelming some times when there is lots of tasks and little time

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Anchor active : a activity training course where we can pick up on skills to use in the work place. Helps support staff what need a new way of talking to service users and a confidance boost Lots of nights out with fellow staff, birthday partys etc. Out of hour events set up by manager or staff members.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Anchor Trust to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Anchor trust is a lovely place to be working in. There is always someone you can talk to when you are feeling a little down or un motivated. All the staff are lovely and always helpful when needed , residents are always different and a big group of personality there is never a same day .


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Anchor Trust?
  • Go in expecting the best. Make sure you talk to people when you need to they will not judge or mistreat you. Try to be the most confidant as you can. Join in with everything as its a great opportunity. Fous on the paper work side and the skills for the job will come with it
