  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work with clients on their corporate tax matters to make sure that they stay within the rules and regulations. I take client data and use this to work out how much tax they have to pay. I also liaise with clients to ensure they pay on time to avoid penalties.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many skills both from college work and from on the job learning. I have became more competent with IT as I use a computer all day and have became very good with specialist software that we use on clients. I have also gained a lot of confidence.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy working here and would be happy to stay here for years in the future. Everyone is happy to help and a very inclusive nature is created. You will join with others and instantly have a peer group that can assist you and you can assist them. This is great for exams.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is really well structured right from the start. From my first week at PwC I was aware of what exams I would be doing and when I would be doing these. I was made aware of the process and what I should expect as well as what was expected of me.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Everyone is happy to help a they want you to pass your exams! There are a lot of people here who have been through their professional exams and know exactly what you are going through. They are always there to offer help and guidance and to reassure you when needed.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We get a lot of support. We are released from work so we have time to go to college and study for our exams. We are also able to take more time off before an exam if we wish to revise and the firm are really good at encouraging this.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The work you do for you exams is very applicable in the workplace. You will learn skills that you use day to day so college becomes more interesting and stimulating. It is fun to apply what you have learned in a real world scenario with a real world client who needs help.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is a huge social element of working at PwC with many social clubs. These could be the monthly social, sports clubs where activities are offered for free, religious clubs . Any kind of club and you are even encourage to start your own if you feel there is a need for it.

  • Yes

  • This is a great and well known company and to work here is a pleasure. You work with lots of professionals who are always willing to help and you will really enjoy your experience or even career here! PwC is a great place to work and you should definitely apply!


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Take the time to look at the PwC professional and have an idea of examples of when you have shown these skills and attributes as these are what will be assessed when you apply for a job here, an assessment centre and an interview with the firm at the office.
