  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves catering for a range of different cultures religions I have to meet the criteria’s in order to meet the customers needs and requirements it’s also includes doing purée and soft meals for a few resident I have to make sure that everything is prepped ready for the next day

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learned a lot since being on the apprenticeship you don’t really understand what the catering side of work involves until your actually in there and doing it yourself. I have learnt to develop my knowledge on cake making and a lot of new techniques while making and meeting the needs of the customers

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The program has gave me more that I ever expected I didn’t really know what an apprenticeship was until I decided that I’d give it a go and I don’t regret it at all everyone tries to make you confident in your work and you are praised constantly

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My program wasn’t very organised at first with my assessor but now Babcock got it sorted and now everything is well organised and I currently have no complaints everything is going great and the structure of my program is great and I am really enjoying it at this time

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support just lately and they are really praising my talents and I do like getting noticed and praised because it lets me know that I am doing my job correctly and doing things to the best of my ability and I always get compliments from the residents they let me know what they like and what they don’t

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I get told a lot of information and they always make sure that I understand everything and now everything is on track and I’ve settled in extremely well I enjoy my job and I like going to work because I know what I’m working towards and they’ve helped me get to know my surroundings

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me perform better in my role because I want to do well and they can help me to achieve this because they encourage me a lot which makes me feel good about the work that I do and it also helps me concentrate on certain things every month

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have recently been doing baking activities with the customers and they have really enjoyed it overall they are very competitive and up for anything and everything some aren’t so keen but most really enjoy making cupcakes or shortbread they also enjoy decorating them they absolutely love it and now I’m starting to understand the residents more.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It’s a great company and they try and do everything they can in order to make sure that you can get on with everything and they also make sure that you get the qualifications that are required. They are a good company and I would recommend them to anyone


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Anchor Trust?
  • Nothing just go for it they are a great quality training provider and all the training is great and understandable all of the people that I have met from Babcock are nice and friendly and they always make sure that you always understand what’s been said and they always explain new things that have been introduced
