  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The work I do every day will definitely change depending on the rotation I am on. It involves use of excel and other software to work with teams from across the company through the UK. I will have frequent interactions with various stakeholders and am responsible for doing bid pursuits.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed a range of skills using the PwC offered technology workshops and other training exercises such as excel and powerpoint. On the job training is great and you can learn a lot about different things such as the industry and client specifics. You are often pushed to develop yourself.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love the programme there is an open appetite for change and senior leaders listen to your suggestions. This leaves you feeling invigorated and positive about your position and the fact that things are receptive to change. you are treated fairly in terms of your opinion being taken seriously which is great.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is very well structured because you are able to gain enough experience in different sectors of the business due to the rotation nature and you are able to preference where you go in order to have some control over your future. This is great because it leads to you feeling involved.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • You receive a very wide range of support including time off for revision in exams, time off for attendance to exams, time off for classes and time off for development days. This helps push you through the early stages of your career. It is immensely instrumental in developing yourself and very useful.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider acts as an independent in safeguarding your well being whilst on your apprenticeship which is really useful. They will assign someone who you can go to if you have any concerns regarding your employer that cannot be solved although I have not heard of anybody needing this.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification is designed by pwc and gives you a broad understanding of what is required to be known when working in the consulting industry such as accounting and basic knowledge of business structures. You are supported with all fees and reassured with the opportunity for a retake which reduces the pressure and helps you perform better.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many extra curricular activities which is the benefit of being in a big firm. Everything from being able to take part in the company sports team (of which there are many) to being able to focus on religion or knitting, the company offers the chance to get involved with a funded group.

  • Yes

  • PwC offer you the chance to do so many different things across the industry and at later stages of your career offers you the chance to change disciplines and work in another line of service which renews the lease on your career. the people are positive and this helps get you through development.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Ensure that you brush up on basic numeracy skills and are versed on competency examples of how you have demonstrated the PwC values and behaviours in order to be successful in interview. do the practice assessments that are sent out in the emails and make sure you approach it with a smile.
