We keep the network up and running, we run line tests for fibre and broadband connections. We are a diverse team who handle customer issues and complaints over the phone. We all communicate with engineers to get the job done as quickly as possible, to give the best customer satisfaction
I have learnt various skills. Using various differrent types of software, i have learnt to deal with high priority tasks, and set deadlines for myself. i have also became alot more organised and better time keeping, i have learnt this through setting up various meetings alongside important managers in the company
I enjoy my programme alot, it has given me plenty of opportunities to work in different areas and volunteer for different roles. I have also been able to take part in a university course which my company pays for, i have increased my knowledge within networking which i can put into every day practice
My programme has been structures well, we have taken part in NVQ days and University days where we get to study for exams. In my office i understand clearly what i am doing and i get to experience what different teams do every 6 months of my apprenticeship this is a good way to learn
I receive various levels of support, for example if i was to run into an issue, i would first try to solve the problem independently, if i fail to do this i will ask a team member, and if they still dont know how i always understand i can go to my line manager
I receive a decent of support from my training providers, we commonly go to our line manager or mentors at university and they will help us. We do get the appropriate amount of study days where we can carry out or NVQ work and University work and dont get distracted.
My qualification through our training providers gives me an understanding that i am capable of carrying out different job roles and that i can be independant and work to a high standard. It gives me the sense that i am working towards and end goal and i have learned alot.
I have been involved in various activities, taking part in a tv advert, school workshops where i got to talk about the apprenticeship schemes and i have also taken part in challenge days where we host events for people to take part in and win prizes in. The events have taught me alot.
Yes
I would recommend BT to a friend because the job opens up so many oppurtunties within the Networking sector, and where it is a large company you are allowed to move around and meet new people and take part in loads of different events. There for i would recommend BT
I would say build a network, and learn various ICT courses because you have to have good knowledge with these systems. Make sure that you have an understanding of how a network works and what different outcomes you have that can happen in the future. However bt is overall a good company.
