  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis my role is very interesting as I am always dealing with sensitive information and uploading It onto the system. Additionally I often help team members with cases they are handling or any searching for key information that is needed. My role is often very intense but keeping busy in this organisation is a great use of time.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills including efficient searching skills which I gained during a three day training course. Also I have learned great team skills, presentation skills and how to appropriately act within a regulator. The FCA constantly provides new learning opportunities whether you are a new joiner or someone who wishes to learn a new skill.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My programme is very enjoyable, I have made many great friends in the FCA In a short amount of time as everyone is so welcoming. Also the amount of trust and exciting work that I receive is amazing for someone at such an early stage in their career which I feel very privileged to receive.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My programme is very well organised as it has a clear structure and the BPP representative's are helpful. However there is room for improvement in the explanation of the monthly exams as it was at first unclear as what to do but the representative from BPP was quick to remedy this.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is very supportive in my work life and my apprenticeship studies. My team allow me to have an appropriate time to get my study done as well as not overloading me with work which allows for a healthy work and study balance. My line manager especially is a big support to me who I often feel I can go to with any concerns.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider is very supportive when working towards my qualification as they give a lot of support in making sure the work required is done and are understanding about me being unable to disclose certain information to them that is very sensitive. I feel this relationship Is very important as when unsure with anything I feel they are keen to restore my confidence.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that my qualification helps me in my role by allowing me to take time to learn about things that I am often dealing with in my role which aids me in having a better understanding of my role. As my role and the apprenticeship I study go hand in hand it helps to learn this way.
