  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I am converting and formatting documents into Microsoft templates and entering calculations into the software Mathcad. • I have learnt new skills in using different computer programmes including Revit, Mathcad and STAAD. • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I do enjoy the programme greatly as I am learning on the job as well as studying the theory at university and earning a degree. The studying that I do at university I am able to apply to my job which enhances my work capabilities and my work experience aids my university work.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The degree apprenticeship programme itself is very well structured, however my own personal experience hasn't been that structured due to unexpected project issues that has lead me to be left at one side with little to do at times. The university course is well structured with a variety of modules planned for each year that keeps the course interesting and engaging.

However, I haven't received any support for my ICE attributes and what has to be done in order to submit evidence.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Mott MacDonald to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a global company that has offices all around the world with opportunities to work on projects all over the world. It has very good company ethics where they want to put their employees at the heart of every decision that they make. You have the opportunity to progress within the company to whatever level you want to continue to work towards.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mott MacDonald?
  • I would say that you should be yourself in the interview and show your personality as you have to work amongst a team so showing that you can bring something different to that team is key as everyone that is applying for the role will meet the academic or experience requirements so it is about what else makes up you.
