  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role was to assist and be supervised by trainee Solicitors' in the firm. I was able to therefore meet numerous trainee Solicitors',as well as meet teams in the firm that consisted of qualified Solicitors and partners of the firm. The type of work involved research tasks for cases or pieces of law, drafting documents and going over contractual agreements/pieces of legislation.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Pinsent Masons?
  • I feel valued by Pinsent Masons as they gave me work to do that I could have a good attempt at, but my supervisor would go over the work I had done and explain in detail the areas of law i had worked on. They also make you feel a part of the firm as you are formally introduced to everyone, given your own desk and given the freedom to work on tasks until you feel they are done to a high standard

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • My supervisor gave me great amounts of support and feedback and would often check I was on the right track and that I was happy with the work provided. Your supervisor is only a few desks away and so is easily accessible if you have a quick question. Alternatively, they are happy to give e-mail addresses in order to ask questions on the work they have set or to ask questiosn on the aspects of law they work in.

  • 9. Would you recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend Pinsent Masons to a friend as it gives insights into what a career in Commecial Law would consist of and enhances your skills and abilities ready for university/ to secure a training contract at a later stage. It also allows a person to make an informed decision and what area of law they want to go into or if they want to go into law at all.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons?
  • One tip I would give for the application process would be to plan ahead and apply early, as the firm likes to see someone who plans ahead insted of someone who applies at last minute and gives a half-hearted application. Also, make yourself stand out by showing your interests of law/ abilities though your experiences and skills you have already used.
