  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed both my written and verbal communication skills. I have to communicate with colleagues on a daily basis as well as talking to clients and contractors as well as people in other departments such as property managers to arrange access for surveys. Having to do all these tasks have also helped develop my confidence. I have also become far more organsied having to manage my work load daily.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The apprenticeship programmme is very enjoyable. There is a lot of learning invloved both on the job and studying for a degree and as such lots of hard work. There is however still a good work life balance and a good social life. Having lots of responsiblities and going on site is very enjoyable.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organsied. I have one day off a week to focus on my university course which in my case I do from home as it is all done online. This one day to study is seperate from work and I am not required to do any of my work responsibilities on my given study days.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive as much help as I need, everyone in the department is willing to help and happy to answer any question I have. I get asked to assist various people in the department and while I am given lots of responsibility I can always ask if I am struggling with something or I just don’t know. On site more, experienced people in the department will talk me through complex and technical details and offer their knowledge which is very insightful and valuable knowledge I can gain.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have reviews every 2 months with a representative from UCEM which is the university I am studying with. In this review I can ask questions and flag up any queries I have. I can also message the same person I have my reviews with at any time if I have any concerns. I can also message tutors directly if I have any struggles specifically with the course.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Right now, I am doing very general modules, so I don’t feel this really helps my role in my job very much at all. I do think that when I start to do the more building surveying focused modules this will help me with the job giving me more technical knowledge and knowledge I can transfer to my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are lots of extra-curricular activities, people will go to the pub on Fridays and there are team lunches which are both great ways to get to know the people you work with outside the office. There are also sports teams and lots of networking events which I endeavour to get more involved with soon.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Cushman & Wakefield to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Cushman and Wakefield is a great place to work everyone is really nice and wants to help you learn and make you feel welcome. There are lots of opportunities outside of the standard working day and there is a very good work life balance, the offices are very nice too.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Cushman & Wakefield?
  • For others applying to Cushman and Wakefield I would suggest people spend as much time as they can preparing their applications as this is what decides if you get an interview. In an interview you should just be yourself and show your personality, don’t be bland try and standout, without being weird! I would highly recommend applying, I haven’t regretted it…. Yet!
