  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a Team Member Star. Daily tasks include customer service and upkeep of the shop via restocking and general cleaning, also making coffees, food and smoothies. I interact with both my team and customers every day and externally i meet with the people from my course. I am responsible for maintaining my shop/company's standards.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is really great. From the first day you have so much support and great training! We get reminders about any work we need to hand in regularly so we don't forget. Our programme was very well organised and lots of fun.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I get some support from my employer but i understand that he has a shop to run himself. Sometimes i feel that he forgets that i am on a course with this company and i don't really know how to talk to him sometimes. He supports me when i want to make goals for myself though, like learning certain roles.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • Living costs are met by my salary at the moment because i live with my mum. I can give her half of my wages every week. Im not sure how it would be if i wanted to move out though. Travel in London is very expensive and my salary covers it every week. My daily and social costs are also met!

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Very many. We have friday night drinks at the end of every month, and big summer and christmas parties to go to. Head office are always holding classes if you want to improve in any areas in your shop also. When I'm not working I'm either sleeping or being dragged to the pub.

  • 9. Would you recommend The Apprentice Academy to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Its made me feel a lot more confident as a person, which has made me very happy. I used to be very shy and find meeting new people quite difficult but now not so much. There's loads of support from day 1 and you feel comfortable with everyone on your course because they're going through what you are, which means you always have people to talk to about your day.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to The Apprentice Academy?
  • Let your personality shine through. Assessment days involve team building games which takes away all of the nerves because they're so fun. There are always opportunities for you if you look for them. I would have liked to be told to constantly remind myself that the good days far out weigh the bad.
