  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role within the firm is to support the main Audit engagement teams through project management support and administrative support. This can range from running various reports, analysing data relating to budgets, assisting with milestone tracking, file management, client take on process all the way to basic administration such as drafting letters etc.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Throughout the apprenticeship, I have gained many skills, these include but are not limited to the following - people / communication skills, leadership skills, team work and team building skills. I have also been able to develop my information technology skills and general overall ability, awareness, thoroughness and consistency in my work.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The apprenticeship programme is very enjoyable, as mentioned above, there are many opportunities to develop your skills through work and college. There is never an expectation for you to work yourself into the ground to manage both work and college, the support is always available for you to utilise, which helps.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The apprenticeship programme is very structured and organised. The scheme is set out in a specific way / format - this includes timelines and milestones to complete (e.g, probationary period within the first 3 months, expected to complete college exams and coursework throughout the whole apprenticeship) which leads up to graduation.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • As mentioned above, support is available from everyone, ranging from the peers at your own level, to your team leader, line manager etc. Help is never far away. Within the workplace, colleagues will also be more than willing / happy to help with the college component of your apprenticeship also. There will also be ex-apprentices at hand to provide their experience and advice.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The support provided by the training provider is consistent with the support provided in the workplace. As previously mentioned, they will be more than willing to assist with both workplace issues / events as well as the educational side of the apprenticeship. Bi-monthly reviews are set in place to monitor progress also.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification gained from the apprenticeship programme is one that will be valuable and relevant to your day-to-day role. It is based on Business Administration, which within, my role is definitely relevant and useful. Knowledge is definitely gained from this that can be passed on and utilised in your role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • The social side of working at Deloitte is definitely one that is active. Quarterly meals with your team are scheduled to ensure good working and colleague relationships are built. There are also many events relating to specific engagements that take place throughout the year which also assists with being an integrated part of the team.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Working at Deloitte is good, useful, and enhances your personal and professional development in all ways possible. Your colleagues at Deloitte are friendly, approachable and always happy to help, which makes the day to day role brighter in itself. The work can also be very interesting and learning something new every day is great.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Deloitte?
  • My first tip / advice would be to research the role and make sure it is what you want and are suited for. I wouldn't say it is worth worrying about your ability to perform in the role as support will always be provided and available at ease. But research is definitely a priority.
