1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:

My work experience involved learning about what M&G does and the investment process. The investment process involves a manager (e.g. Inflexion) identifying a suitable fund of a company (e.g. Krispy Kreme) that M&G can back. M&G then meet with other investment directors to finalise the fund.

2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?

I had a meeting with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] who is the Global Head of Distribution and or Sales. He gave me top tips for success in the workplace. These are: never stop learning ( you learn something new every day even if you are old) and you have 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason...

3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?

I loved my work experience. I thought it was going be work, work and more work, but it was a relaxed working environment with loving and caring people who doesn't think you are a burden but will answer to your every will and need. I was an enriching experience.

4. How well organised was your work experience?

My work experience was well organised. I saw the desks of people in my department and there wasn't one of them with a cluster of seemingly useless things. I applied for this work experience via a website (S4S Next Gen) and I was amazed with how they were organised in the matter.

5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?

I learnt loads about the company, my department and just the general working environment.

9a. Would you recommend M&G to a friend?

Yes

9b. Why?

Because the work experience is a very enriching experience with lots to do and loving and caring hosts (and colleagues) who will answer to your every question, every need and every whim. You will (yes WILL) learn a lot about your chosen department at M and G and you get free food

10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to M&G?

Expect the unexpected: you will soon find out that your perception of large investment banks is horribly contrasting to what it is. It will (yes WILL) give you a lot of newfound skills you never thought you had like confidence, communication, teamwork, independence and number crunching (you will work with numbers)
