  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role on a daily basis involves working as part of a strong team to help deliver quality customer service to our customers and by helping them with their banking needs when appropriate. From serving people in the banking hall to serving on the counter from processing cheques to making international payments.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt how to become more confident with interacting with customers. I have also massively increased my maths skills, which is tested on a daily basis especially with the handling of money. I've also started to develop a much wider range of thinking in order to realize why certain procedures are followed.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I absolutely love the programme just because it allows me to work in the banking environment. I look forward to all aspects of work and am motivated and eager to learn more and more on a daily basis. However i feel as thought the apprenticeship side of things are the weaker part of the programme.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel as though i am under supported from my training provider and feel like i am simply just working a job.I actually forget im doing an apprenticeship the majority of the time! I just wish it was a little bit more monitored closely as i believe i would be a lot more knowledgeable if so.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I haven't really received any support since the beginning which is really upsetting as i was looking forward to powering through my work alongside my support worker. However due to their staffing issues and the sheer volume of people they manage ive not seen my support working in about 4 out of my 6 months.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel the training materials i have do definitely help me out on a daily basis and also allow me to investigate things further once situated around other more experienced colleagues. I can see how my learning links to my job in many different ways which i do think is amazing.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are and i have participated in as many as possible and it would definitely be something that would interest me in the future. I love networking especially outside of work with colleagues as i feel it can build relationships further and can really be beneficial then once working alongside one another.
